Issue 7: There features the work of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered writers and artists from Jordan, Poland, Turkey, Greece, Lebanon, Japan, and many places in between. Some of the writers are translated into English for the first time. Two older Greek men befriend two Albanian builders, a Danish teenager admires her Greenlander schoolmates, a young Moroccan boy’s day trip to the seaside ends in a strange threesome, and the renowned French intellectual Monique Wittig encourages us all to be more hysterical. Chroma was part of the Short Story Festival at Foyles in April 2008. Click here and here to hear the translators Sophie Lewis and Nina Rapi read from two stories that appear in Issue 7. Thanks to Apis Books and Tales of the Decongested for organising such an inspiring day.
